Why we built this
Most laptop batteries die well before their time — not because of bad hardware, but because of how we charge them. Lithium-ion batteries hate being held at 100% for hours and hate being drained to zero. Every laptop owner knows this in theory, but very few have a practical way to do anything about it.
Battery Charge Monitor fixes that. Open a tab, set your charge limits, and let the alarm do the work. No installs, no signups, no tracking. Just a simple browser tool that helps you charge smart.
What makes it different
- Background-tab support. The alarm fires even when you're working in another tab or app — most browser-based battery tools don't handle this properly.
- OS-level notifications. Combined with audio alarms so you don't miss a threshold even with the volume off.
- Lightweight. The whole site loads in under 30KB. The monitor uses event-driven battery updates, so it doesn't drain the very thing it's supposed to protect.
- Privacy-first. Battery data never leaves your device. Settings are stored locally in your browser.
Our promise
- Free forever. The web tool and desktop app are free, and they always will be.
- No tracking. Your battery data never leaves your device.
